# Raven vs Jamie

Jamie is a serious **privacy-first, bot-free** notetaker built in Germany, with genuine EU data residency and clean compliance credentials. It competes for exactly the buyer Raven does: someone who cares where their meetings go. The difference is the **kind** of privacy. Jamie asks you to **trust** a closed product that uploads audio to its EU cloud; Raven is **open source** and keeps everything **on your machine** - privacy you can **audit**, not just be promised - and it also helps you **live during** the call.

## Price
Jamie's free tier is a real evaluation tier - **10 meetings/month, 30-minute cap** - with paid plans (in EUR) at **Plus €25/mo** (20 meetings, 2-hr cap), **Pro €47/mo** (unlimited, 3-hr cap, integrations), and **Team €39/user/mo**.
Raven is free and open source; you pay your own AI/transcription usage (a few dollars a month), with no meeting cap and no seat fee.
## Two kinds of privacy
Both are bot-free, which already beats the cloud-bot notetakers on privacy. The distinction:
* **Jamie**: audio is captured on your device, then **uploaded to Jamie's EU infrastructure** for transcription/summaries (and deleted after). Strong, compliance-grade - but it's a **closed** system you have to trust, and your content does leave your machine.
* **Raven**: transcripts, notes, and the Ask index stay in a **local SQLite database**; audio goes only to the transcription/AI providers **you** chose with **your own** keys. Because Raven is **open source**, "it's private" is verifiable in the code.
