# Plans & Billing

> Raven Pro pricing, how to upgrade, and what happens when you hit a limit.

  This page is about **Raven Pro** plans. The [open-source version](/quickstart/overview) has no plans or limits - you use your own API keys with no restrictions.

## Plans

All limits on the Free tier reset at **midnight UTC** each day.

## Payment provider

Subscriptions are processed by **[Dodo Payments](https://dodopayments.com)**. Raven does not store your card number — Dodo handles checkout and the customer portal.

## Upgrading to Pro

When you're ready to upgrade:

1. Click **"Upgrade Now"** in the overlay (appears when you hit a limit) or go to **Settings → Billing**
2. You'll be taken to Dodo's checkout page to enter payment details
3. After payment, your plan updates immediately (usually within seconds via webhook)
4. All limits are removed — unlimited AI, unlimited session duration

## Managing Your Subscription

From the **Settings** page, click **Manage Subscription** to open your billing portal. There you can:

* Update your payment method
* Switch between monthly and yearly billing
* View past invoices
* Cancel your subscription

## What Happens When You Hit a Limit

### AI request limit (5/day on Free)

When you've used all 5 AI responses for the day:

* A banner appears: **"You've used all 5 free AI responses for today"**
* The AI stops responding until the limit resets at midnight UTC
* An **"Upgrade Now"** button lets you remove the limit instantly

### Session duration limit (2 minutes on Free)

When a recording reaches the 2-minute mark:

* The recording **automatically stops**
* A banner appears: **"Free sessions are limited to 2 minutes"**
* Your transcript from those 2 minutes is fully preserved
* An **"Upgrade Now"** button lets you record without limits

### Offline grace

If Raven can't reach the server when starting a session, it allows one **grace session** (limited to 2 minutes) so you're never completely blocked.
