A session is one recording: transcript, overlay chat, mode, and metadata. Non-incognito sessions live in SQLite on this machine (data/raven.db under the app user-data folder). Nothing syncs to a Raven cloud.

Insights are not a hosted Pro feature. They call the same providers you configured in Settings. The header also has an Export menu (Markdown or PDF, optional transcript) - see Post-call recap.

Auto-save

During a recording, Raven writes the session about every 60 seconds. After a crash, an in-progress session can reopen as Recovered Session.

Resume a session

Open a saved session and click Resume (next to Export) to keep recording into it. Use it when one conversation spans more than one sitting, such as an interview that continues the next day.
  • The transcript, Assist answers, notes, Ask chat and session id all carry over; it stays one session.
  • Assist is handed what it knew from the earlier sitting: the compacted session memory if you used Assist then, otherwise the stored summary and action items. Ask it “what did we cover before?” and it answers from day one.
  • The overlay opens with a Session resumed notice, replays the earlier answers, and its Transcript tab already shows the earlier sitting.
  • Duration counts recorded time only, not the gap between sittings. The session shows how many sittings it has, and the transcript gets a Resumed divider at each one.
  • When you stop, the summary and action items regenerate over the whole session; your title is kept. Insights and the follow-up email draft are cleared because they described only the first sitting; regenerate them when you want.
Resume is unavailable while another recording is running or while Incognito is on.

Incognito

Toggle the hat-and-glasses control on the pill before you start. Incognito sessions are not written to SQLite and disappear when you stop.
