Raven checks GitHub Releases hourly for a newer version and updates in place. Your API keys and local session history are untouched by an update.

In-app update

When a newer version is published you’ll see a banner (and a Check for updates button in Settings → General):
1

Update now

Raven downloads the new version in the background and shows progress.
2

Restart & update

Click to quit and install. Raven reopens on the new version.

Platform notes

Updating to 2.4.1 on a Mac still uses the old flow one last time (download the installer, drag to Applications), because your installed 2.4.0 predates in-app self-update. From 2.4.1 onward, macOS updates in place like Windows.
Raven only offers a build when the published version is newer than the one you’re running.
